Sevilla president José María del Nido Carrasco has travelled directly to the Spanish capital to take part in a high-level meeting with the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA). The trip to Las Rozas comes in the wake of lingering questions surrounding the officiating during the Andalusian side's recent match at the Santiago Bernabéu against Real Madrid.
The main purpose of Del Nido Carrasco's presence at the federation's headquarters is to gain direct access to the official materials used during the match. The club chief intends to inspect both the audio communications between the on-pitch referee and the VAR room, alongside the various camera angles and footage examined during key moments of the encounter.
This direct intervention highlights the growing scrutiny clubs place on match officials and the decision-making process under the video assistant referee protocol. Sevilla hope that their examination of the materials at Las Rozas will bring clear explanations regarding the contentious actions that took place during their visit to Madrid.
